What is the client's business? This client is an old firm of accountants specialising in the horticulture and agriculture sectors. Previously they were part of the branch organisation. They have been independent for several years and are looking to extend their business to small and medium sized firms. In their attempt to grow they are restructuring and streamlining their company. |

What was the clients question? Help us to work better together as a team. The office had different management every year. This resulted in short term policies. The organisation was not focusing on the right objective for the future and there was a general need to survive as an individual. The different workers did not have an idea that they wanted to achieve the same goals. |
How did we answer the brief? SYNACT designed together with the client a program focusing on goals and missions. With a "what-if" analysis the group analysed the structure of the organisation and the coherence of the different functions and tasks in it. This was all made visible in a metaplan-structure. From that the different goals and objectives per function were compared and if necessary adapted to a more logical structure. These sessions were alternated with different games and simulations. |

What is the result? The success of the approach was unexpected. Soon the client had new but different problems. They were so effective in winning new business that they could not cope with the amount of work. The new way of working together motivated some of the staff to look for an other job within or outside the organisation. In the follow-up training a lot of attention was spent on the different ways the vacancies could be filled. After two years the office was transferred to the best in the network. Winning the best business, innovating their products, finding new markets etc. |
